The Lord's Day --Are you kidding?

In less than an hour it will be the Lord's Day-Sunday. What ever does that mean? I thought it was "my weekend" Does God really have any claim on this first day of the week? How is it his? Do I buy into that? How so.. practically speaking? Unless the Lord is buying some commercial time for the NFL game of the week or has his name written on the hood of a NASCAR-I don't see any way he can legitimately claim it's his day. And sunday morning? Shoot that is my time to sleep, my time to do the laundry, my time to hit the ball, my time to veg out. Sunday evening is a little 60 minutes, a trip to Walmart for juice and eggs and some quick laundry so I'll have just what I need for Monday morning.

You know though I don't know about the "Lord's Day", but I sure could use some time off, some rest, something to think about that counts that isn't just about me and mine. A day that someone else has a claim on...the Lord's Day ......I wonder
